Lancaster County is made up of these wonderful little communities, many of which have been around for hundreds of years. They contain buildings and collections of peoples lives, all of which are interesting and represent a way of life from a long ago time. Living in Lancaster County 250 years go would have been interesting. Lancaster County came into being in 1729. It was frontier land. Our fore-fathers had gumption! It doesn’t matter where you live at sometime it was not settled. I’ve highlighted some small towns and tried to point out the specialness of these towns. Material was gathered from various sources and I will try give credit where credit is due. Some of these little towns just blend in with each other, they depended on one another when they were being settled and that oneness never quite went away. I’ve tried to include places to visit and things to do in each. I haven’t mentioned any of the places to dine, but there are many.
