You need time away to just have fun.
If you are the busy person that can’t sit still why not try Civil War Days at Landis Valley. Are you the person that wants to sit back and watch the world go by? How about a balcony overlooking the farm lands? Do you need a bottle of wine to go with that? Ahhh, dinner to finish it off. We have many suggestions if these don’t do it
Wrap up the Summer in Lancaster County. Make it a long weekend because there are all sorts of things to do. You can start early Friday with the Long’s Park Art & Craft Festival, actually you could probably spend more than one day there. Next we have the PA Renaissance Faire and that is another time that you could do more than one day, see you might need a week 
. In the evening you could do a dinner theatre we have 2 in the county. Of course, you could just relax here at the farm or I could send you out to enjoy the river either by just watching it flow by you or getting into a canoe or kayak. Plan ahead.
This town is always of interesting to our visitors. Quite frankly, we in Lancaster County don’t even give the name a second thought. To me it is a place to send guests that want a buggy ride, to see quilts, taste great food or shop at some neat specialty shops. This week end one of those shops is having a Hot Dog Bash on Saturday, Intercourse Canning Company. While you are there you can visit those neat shops, do some taste tests at Kitchen Kettle , do the pretzel thing Intercourse Pretzel and try the soft pretzels at Immergut Pretzels (no website, run by the Amish). So you see you can spend all day just hanging out eating, shopping, eating, shopping etc.
Masonic Village is a retirement community located about 6 miles from us. It has gorgeous grounds and wonderful care given to its residents. My brother lived there for about 4 years and I was always delighted to visit because with each season the grounds were highlighted with flowers, and the interior was decorated beautifully.
