Breakfast is a special time at Vogt Farm. The food is delicious and plentiful. We get to know each other and have a fun time together. Conversation is interesting and sometimes lively. We love to hear about what you saw and where you ate. If you need help with your day this is the time Kathy shares help and direction.

We have many things to do, places to see and wonderful dining. Take a day trip to Hershey, we are just 20 minutes away and our rooms are as lovely and probably less expensive. For a fine dining experience, try Bube's Brewery. The Nissley Vineyards is open all year for tours. In the summer they offer Music in the Vineyards. We have tickets to assure that you get in. Sometimes the concerts fill up, our people are assured of getting in, just ask Kathy. An opportunity to enjoy our Susquehanna River would be in kayaking. Shank's Mare offers lessons, rentals and great "parties". Something new in Lancaster city is "Living Experience" about the underground railroad, www.livingtheundergroundrailroad.com this is so unusual you will surely want to allow time to see it. Our local towns have things happening on many weekends. Fourth Friday Evenings will be a time to stroll the streets and shop, eat and enjoy the outdoors. www.parivertowns.com www.mountjoychamber.com . I took the Historic Walking Tour of Lancaster, very interesting, (I've lived here all my life) I learned things that you will find unique to Lancaster. Recently our B&B association went to visit Mount Hope Winery, also the PA Renaissance Faire, very nice and well worth the trip. Kathy was out and about and found some things on back roads that she has never seen, she will share with maps and info.

Welcome to our Gentlemen's Farm in the fertile farmlands of Lancaster County, PA's Amish Country. This pastoral setting has been our home since 1972 and we invite you to come and share in its delights. On our farm you will find a few cats at the house and 4 beef cows with calves at their sides grazing in the meadow. Keith and Kathy are from the country and cherish the farmland. We understand the need to use the land wisely and conserve. We have tried to make use of these ideals in our day to day lives as well, you see, we were raised by "old time" Mothers that recycled before it was a word. So some of the "new" ideas are really our way of life.

We are involved in things outside the Bed and breakfast and grain elevator. Keith has served on church and Township boards for years and Kathy has worked on local Chambers, church and civic groups. One thing we are both part of for many years is Internation Flying Farmers www.flyingfarmers.org. People are intrgued by the name but it is great group of people that support private flying and farming.  so life is always interesting.

We have porch swings for you to relax on as you enjoy the stars and soak up the quiet. A small farm pond is home to ducks that come and go as they will. If you are out early in the morning, you can hear them greet the dawn.

Our 1868 farmhouse was built on 96 acres by Barbara and Samuel Garber, immediately following the Civil War. They were Mennonites whose family owned the adjoining farm. They built the dairy barn at the same time as the house. The west side of the barn was executed in a fancy brick design, and unlike most bank barns, it opens to the north. Our guest rooms are named for people of significance to its past. Recently we have acquired pictures of these people and have them displayed.
